My Story
My name is Wendy, and relocation has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
I moved countries for the first time when I was four years old. The second time, at ten, we relocated to Lausanne, Switzerland. That move I remember clearly—the goodbyes, the excitement, and the fear. Growing up abroad shaped me deeply. While I have many fond memories, one thing was always hard: saying goodbye.
Each summer meant losing friends as families moved on. Each new school year brought the same quiet question: Who will stay? Who will leave? Over time, I learned to protect myself by keeping people at a distance.
And yet, I longed for deeper connection.
When the Feelings Returned
Years later, as an adult, I relocated again—this time for my husband’s career. And all those old feelings resurfaced, stronger than before. I told myself it was normal. That I should be grateful. That I just needed to adjust.
I did everything I thought I was supposed to do. I stayed busy. I made friends. I practiced gratitude. But the harder I tried, the more disconnected I felt from myself.
Finding the Missing Piece
The breakthrough came unexpectedly while researching how to support my son with ADHD. Learning about neuroscience—how habits form and how the brain rewires itself—changed everything for me.
Suddenly, the ideas I’d been drawn to for years began to make sense in a new way. Eckhart Tolle taught me presence. Brené Brown reframed vulnerability and shame. And neuroscience research from thinkers like Dr. Tara Swart and James Clear finally showed me how real, lasting change happens.
Not through willpower.
Not overnight.
But through small, consistent practices over time.
Why Late Bloom Collective Exists
Late Bloom Collective grew from my own journey of rebuilding my sense of self after years of adapting to change.
I created it for women—especially those who relocated for their partner’s career and quietly put themselves last. Women who are asking Who am I now? or What comes next?
Late Bloom Collective offers a gentle, structured framework for self-reflection and personal growth, informed by research-backed ideas and lived experience. It’s not therapy. It’s a private, self-paced way to reconnect with yourself—on your own terms.
You’re Not Broken. You Just Got Buried.
You already have the answers inside you.
Late Bloom Collective simply helps you uncover them.
Let’s begin. 🌸
